Week 3- Multitasking in our Digital Nation

So on Tuesday we watched a documentary called "Digital Nation" that talked about how technology has rapidly changed our lives, our culture, and our world in these past few decades. It was interesting to see how technology and it's capabilities has really crept up on the vast majority of us, especially those who were born into it all, yet there are still those who foresaw it all along. It really makes you wonder what our children and grandchildren will grow up seeing, hearing, and experiencing that we may or may not see coming in the future. Then on Thursday, multitasking was the topic of the day. One of the researchers in the documentary said that fully engaging in multiple tasks at once just isn't physically possible for the human brain to do. However, this doesn't stop us as a society in trying anyways. The class discussion brought up several good arguments from texting and driving to studying with or without the laptop sitting in front of you. I have to say that all of it really depends on the person; individuals have their own thinking strategies and everyone has something that works for them. Multitasking in the world we live now is all relative to the people trying to achieve it. The intrigue, and also the danger, lies within the result of it all. Scary yet interesting stuff, huh? Until next week kids~
